Your clinic may be eligible to receive a single up-front fixed grant payment of $5,000 (excluding GST) towards a website build or upgrade, adding e-commerce to your website, creating new website content, or an SEO upgrade.
This support includes funded activities in 5 priorities:
- Training and Coaching
- Website Build or Upgrade
- Professional Business Advice
- Strategic Marketing Services
- Business Continuity or Succession
The program is administered by the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training (DESBT).
Available Funding
Your clinic may be eligible to receive a single up-front fixed grant payment of $5,000 (excluding GST)
Funding will not be given if activities either:
- Cost less than $5,000 (Excluding GST)
- Payment is made before approval of the grant (you must be approved before you pay for the grant-funded activity)

- Training or coaching of up to 4 months in duration
Website Build or Upgrade
- Website build or upgrade (including website refresh)
- Adding e-commerce
- Developing new website content

- Strategic marketing plans including search engine optimisation advice
Business Continuity and Succession
- Business continuity and succession plans

Detailed Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this grant, your clinic must:
- Not have been approved for funding under Round 1, 2 or 3 of the Business Basics Grants Program.
- Have fewer than 20 employees (by headcount) at the time of applying for the grant.
- Have an active Australian Business Number (ABN) and be registered for GST
- Have headquarters in Queensland
- Have an expected turnover of $300,000 or less in the last financial year (2021–22)
- Not have owners/directors that are insolvent or an undischarged bankrupt.
Your clinic must also maintain this eligibility for the duration of the grant-funded activity.
Application Process
Stage 1: Registration of Interest (ROI) - How to Apply
Applications for the ROI must be completed and submitted through the DESBT SmartyGrants Portal.
The ROI is a short form that will ask you to:
- Provide core business information (E.G. your business address, ABN, and GST Registration status)
- Confirm your business meets all the eligibility criteria of the grant program.
ROIs are not time sensitive and registrations can be completed anytime within the open time frame.
Your ROI will be assessed through a ballot system with a large number of applications identified to move to Stage 2: Full Application Assessment.
There will be no appeal process for applications that are not selected to move to Stage 2.
How to Apply
Registrations of Interest (ROI) open at 9am, Thursday 24 November 2022.

Stage 2: Full Application
Businesses identified from the ballot will be invited to apply for stage 2 and complete a full application which will be competitively assessed. Not all applicants will be funded.
Step 1: Complete your Application
Your application must include the following documents:
- a signed and witnessed statutory declaration from the business's owner or director stating the business meets all grant eligibility criteria
- Independent supplier quotes (no more than 2), dated after 10 November 2022, detailing description and costs of services, who will undertake the activity, and an outline of key activities. You will only be able to upload 1 quote per supplier.
Step 2: Assessment
A competitive assessment will begin after the closure of the round.
Step 3: Notification of Outcome
All applicants will be advised of their grant application outcome. Successful applicants will receive an approval letter outlining the funding agreement.
Step 4: Funding Agreement and Payment
Grant recipients enter into a funding agreement and receive a single upfront grant payment of $5,000 (excluding GST).
Step 5: Recipients Complete Activities
Recipients must complete their grant-funded activity within 4 months of receiving their approval letter.
You must keep all evidence (E.G. application evidence, supplier quotes, corresponding invoices, and bank transactions for audit purposes.
Step 6: Acquittal Survey
Recipients will be surveyed within 6 months after completion of the grant program.
